During this year’s Life-wide Learning Day, the entire form of S3 students connected with refugees from more than 8 countries across Africa and the Middle East. These newfound friends acted as mentors, leading workshops for our students to explore their music, language, culture and life stories. The experience was enriching and enjoyable for all involved.
Engaging in African Songs
Immersing in African Drumming
Exploring the Human Library
Participating in Language Classes
In addition to the workshops, some students went on a guided tour to Chungking Mansions and Christian Action’s Centre for Refugees. This firsthand exposure offered students a deeper understanding of the challenges refugees commonly face upon their arrival in Hong Kong. Such encounters have fostered greater empathy towards these friends who are so far from their homelands.
Thanks to Kowloon Union Church and Africa Center Hong Kong for organizing this wonderful event!
