Around 40 secondary 4 students recently participated in a Chinese Tea Workshop, providing them with an exquisite learning opportunity to immerse themselves in the spirit of Chinese tea history and culture. Hosted by a local tea house, this workshop offered students a captivating journey into the rich history and cultural significance of Chinese tea, along with hands-on lessons in brewing and serving techniques.
Throughout the workshop, students indulged in a sensory exploration of various tea types, including green, black, and oolong teas. Guided by knowledgeable hosts, they learned to discern nuances in aroma, color, and flavor, fostering a deeper appreciation for the art of tea appreciation.
Feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the experience as both educational and enjoyable. By actively engaging in tasting sessions and discussions, they not only expanded their knowledge of Chinese tea but also enhanced their social and cultural awareness.
This workshop marks the beginning of Chinese cultural promotion on campus, and our Secondary 4 students will soon become tea ambassadors, showcasing what they have learned in the workshop and sharing their reflections with their schoolmates.
